70mm. Let that sink in… Back in the day – any chance I got –  I’d go see a film in 70mm. I’ve seen some great ones, too. I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey in 70mm with a group of friends in Philadelphia. On our drive into Philly, one of my friends asked why were we driving over an hour to go see a movie. I told him to just wait, he’ll see why. When we got to the theater, the curtain opened, the film started, the score kicked in…it looked HUGE! He looked over, “Okay now I see why!” I was never questioned again about taking a film road trip. If you get a chance, check out any of the films in the “SEE IT BIG” series at the Museum of Moving Image. They also have other great exhibits. The big screen is calling!
