39 years ago on June 20th, JAWS was first released to theaters. It changed everything. It was the first time as a kid, I had to stand in lines for hours to try to get in to see a movie. It broke all box office records at the time. Boy did it scare the hell out of me. I had a chance to see it again on the big screen 39 years to the day. It was so much fun seeing it again with a packed house. JAWS has really aged well. Still thrilling, funny and scary. But as my comic says, I feel it started that “money making blockbuster” mentality. Blockbuster or not, JAWS is such a well made film. That’s why it worked 39 years ago. That’s why it still works today. Side note: I saw it with the same friend I saw it with 39 years ago. (This time we had our wives.)  Farewell and adieu to you! Show me the way to go home, I’m tired and I want to go to bed…
